Discover the Language of Yoga

Do you struggle with Sanskrit? Worry that you're pronouncing it wrongly in class? Can't answer your student's questions about the meaning of Sanskrit words? 

This workshop was designed especially for YOU!

Sanskrit is an essential part of every serious yoga student's education. In this fascinating course, you'll explore the meanings, pronunciation and purpose of Sanskrit in the world of modern yoga. During this engaging and practical workshop, you will learn:

  • The history and origins of Sanskrit
  • An introduction to the alphabet and numbers of Sanskrit
  • Why Sanskrit is relevant and important for modern yogis
  • How to confidently and correctly pronounce Sanskrit words and phrases 
  • The art of chanting Sanskrit
  • Sanskrit and Asana names 
  • Common Sanskrit words used in Yoga


We'll also be practising classical hatha yoga and enjoying the company of like-minded yoga teachers and students. This workshop is a 'must' if you are teaching, studying or thinking about undertaking yoga teacher training.  Yoga teachers attending this event can claim 6 CPD points.

Who's Going?

This workshop is designed for yoga teachers, yoga teacher trainees and yoga students who want to increase their confidence in Sanskrit, learn how to correctly pronounce and interpret common Sanskrit words and phrases used in yoga.

About the Teacher

Sunita Patil 

Sunita is a yogini, teacher, writer, artist, and coach. She offers comprehensive yoga teachings to help people realise the wisdom within and experience happiness, freedom and fulfilment. Sunita has over a 30 years experience of yoga, and over the past 17 years, she has taught 1,000s of students in Australia, USA and India.

She is renowned for her depth of understanding in Sanskrit, the ancient language of yoga, teaching yogis the sophisticated aspects of yoga philosophy that are often lost in today’s yoga practices.

Sunita makes the philosophy of yoga accessible to everyone, contemporizing its application for the lives of modern yogis. Her breadth of learning is impressive, having studied yoga, ayurveda and Sanskrit at advanced levels, including:

  • Yoga at the Ambika yog Kuteer, BKS Iyengar institute
  • Sanskrit with Acharya Pandit Rasalji
  • Advance Yoga-teacher training at Nature Care College

Booking Terms and Conditions 

Fees are non refundable. Should you cancel your booking more than four weeks prior to start date, 50% of the balance after non-refundable deposit will be given. No refunds will be made for cancellations made within 4 weeks of start date. All bookings are transferrable and may be used by another person if you are unable to attend.
